WPO launches comprehensive program for family wellbeing
The new Child and Family Wellbeing Program enhances support for emotional health and resilience
Workplace Options (WPO), the world’s largest independent provider of holistic wellbeing and employee engagement solutions, has launched a Child and Family Wellbeing Program to complement its existing Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
This global service aims to provide seamless support for families’ emotional health and holistic wellbeing.
Kennette Harris, WPO chief clinical officer, stated, “Our new Child and Family Wellbeing Program provides critical resources and personalized care for those in need, building resilience, promoting mental health, and enhancing their overall quality of life.”
The program focuses on fostering mental and behavioral health in children, which is essential for their safety, wellbeing, and development into adulthood.
The Child and Family Wellbeing Program offers services for parents and caregivers, aiming to strengthen family resilience. WPO’s global EAP now encompasses every concern throughout an individual’s life cycle, addressing issues from infertility to end-of-life care.
Recent statistics underscore the need for holistic support: 50 percent of lifetime mental health illnesses begin by age 14 (NAMI), while 67 percent of working adults experience parental burnout, leading to decreased workplace productivity (BPI Network).
Additionally, 15 percent of children and adolescents worldwide face mental health illnesses (NIH), and 83 percent of parents with neurodiverse children report missing work due to their child’s mental health challenges (RethinkFirst).
The WP Child and Family Wellbeing Program is accessible to families globally, offering services across cultures and languages. Families can easily access support through telephone, email, or chat.
The program includes several human-centered services, such as:
- Pediatric Assessment: Certified clinicians identify the best interventions for children.
- Short-Term Counselling: Certified specialists deliver up to six sessions of individual or family counselling, helping children develop coping skills for challenges like divorce, grief, and transitions.
- Care Coach Support: Trained coaches provide six sessions to assist families with work-life concerns, formulating personalized care plans and resources tailored to individual needs.
Clinical Case Managers also review progress to ensure effective service delivery, collaborating with Child and Adolescent Clinical Care Leaders as needed.
WPO emphasizes that expert and empathetic providers are essential to the success of the Child and Family Wellbeing Program, as holistic, human-centered care is vital for families everywhere.
