Colin Egglesfield, 52, shares emotional health update after third cancer diagnosis
Colin Egglesfield has shared some uplifting news nearly a year after his third cancer diagnosis.
The 52-year-old All My Children actor revealed in January 2025 that he was battling prostate cancer, adding to two previous battles with testicular cancer.
Egglesfield said he is now ‘cancer-free’ and feeling ‘great’ in an interview with E! News on Wednesday.
‘I’m grateful to be here and on the other side of it, ready to move forward with my life,’ he told the outlet.
He explained that his prostate cancer was detected in late 2024 and that he underwent surgery shortly after receiving the news.
Nearly a year later, Egglesfield says his health has fully recovered.

‘It’ll be a year in February, and thankfully it was caught early enough that I didn’t need radiation or chemotherapy, which I really wanted to avoid,’ he added.
The Client List alum recalled that his cancer journey hasn’t always gone smoothly, reflecting on his first testicular cancer diagnosis in 2006 and a recurrence the following year.
‘I waited almost until it was too late and it had started to spread,’ Colin explained.
‘So when they did the surgery and they tested lymph nodes and that sort of thing, they determined that it had spread. So I had to do radiation treatment, and I did not want to go through any of that stuff anymore.’
The acknowledged that recovery has had its challenges but said he is hopeful for the future.
‘It hasn’t been an easy recovery, because there’s learning how to go to the bathroom again and erectile stuff,’ Colin shared, ‘but knowing that I don’t have to deal with this in the future and that I can potentially move on is something that I’m super grateful for.’
Egglesfield is now focusing on projects he’s passionate about, including his motivational speaking events, where he draws on his experience as a performer to help others build confidence.
‘The message that I try to share with people is that the urgency of life is always right now; tomorrow is not guaranteed,’ Colin said.

‘So many of us have been conditioned to look outward for satisfaction and fulfillment,’ he continued.
‘And what I’ve learned through this whole experience is that it really comes from a slowing down and looking inward, and choosing to be grateful and choosing to be someone who’s not going to back away from a difficult situation, and that if I’m not happy or if I’m not fulfilled, I’m going to do what it takes to create that fulfillment.’
Egglesfield’s cancer journey began in 2006, shortly after he was cast as Joshua Madden on All My Children.
He underwent surgery to remove the tumor, and a year later, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer again.
In a 2019 interview with Fox News, Egglesfield reflected on his battles, explaining, ‘It’s not something that men normally like to talk about, and for the longest time, I didn’t want to talk about it because it’s something very personal.’
Recalling his initial symptoms, he said, ‘I just noticed that my left testicle had swelled up, and I went to see the doctor and he said that we needed to do some tests, ultrasound, a blood test.’
‘And they discovered that it was at a pretty advanced stage, and did the surgery and found that some of the cancer cells had gone through the veins and arteries to the kidneys,’ he added.
He later documented his experiences in his book, Agile Artist: Life Lessons From Hollywood And Beyond.
‘This was 13 years ago, so thankfully I am cancer-free,’ he told Fox News in 2019. ‘I feel like at this point in my life, it made sense to put it down on paper.’
Over the years, Egglesfield has appeared in numerous projects beyond All My Children, including The Client List, a Melrose Place remake, episodes of Rizzoli & Isles, and the 2023 film A Rose For Her Grave: The Randy Roth Story.
