MHS Patient Portal and DSL activation help available > Winn Army Community Hospital > Articles

The Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Medical Department Activity and Low Country Market want to help you ensure you have access to the Department of Defenses new electronic health record system – MHS GENESIS.

The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal is a secure website for 24/7 access to your health information, including managing appointments and exchanging messages with your care team. The new patient portal is has replaced the TRICARE Online Secure Patient Portal on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.

The DSL activation instructions for your account are located at https://winn.tricare.mil/Patient-Resources/MHS-GENESIS.  Please click on the “DS LOGON 24/7” image for instructions.

“This DSL activation brochure will guide you through the Defense Self-Service Logon (DS Logon) remote proofing (identity verification) process to access MHS Genesis Patient Portal (MHSG PP),” said Maj.Jason Ryncarz, Chief Health Informatics Officer with U.S. Army MEDDAC – Fort Stewart. “Prior to starting the activation process, please make sure that you have thoroughly read the guide and have required documents readily available. You must complete all the steps at a single time, approximately within 10 minutes. Pay special attention to the section on Account Locks, Deactivations and Suspensions to avoid having your ability to remote proof suspended for 30 days.”

The system will randomly select one of the three methods (uploading documents, typing select digits of credit card or loan, answering knowledge-based questions, etc.) for you to remote proof.

For Financial step proofing, any info (credit card or other financial account) is only used to verify your identity and is not used for data mining or for any other purpose. When asked to provide credit card or loan account info, make sure you are listed as the primary account holder, and it needs to be 2 years old.

Only .jpg are supported for selecting an image. For uploading documents or selfie, it is recommended using a smart device (such as a cell phone) with access to cameras.

For active duty soldiers, we strongly recommend that you request DSL for your dependent(s) by doing a CAC login to this URL: https://mymhsgenesis.health.mil. Once logged in, click on tab “register DSL for dependents”. Complete the steps, DSL activation will be sent to the email you provide.

You have three attempts to successfully remote proof. If you fail and then receive an error, you are locked out for 30 days. If you try again, the 30-day timelines start over again. Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) cannot remove the suspension on your ability to remote proof as it occurs as the data vendor site.

For further concerns or assistance, please contact DMDC at 800-368-3665, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. Also, you may make an appointment at a local RAPIDS ID card office to activate your DS LOGON in-person. RAPIDS site locations can be found here https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco/. Make sure to bring in documents such as picture ID issued from Federal or State Government (ID card, Military Dependent card, State DMV issued ID card, etc.) or Secondary (SSN card, birth certificate, citizenship etc.)
